Credit card purchases (Visa or MasterCard) available via our web-based shopping cart or telephone orders. Down payments and deposits for guitars or amplifiers may be placed on credit cards.

All items, such as cases, saddles, etc., must be paid in full before they are shipped or delivered.
For Spirit Series guitars the terms are:
50% of total estimated cost as a down payment.
Balance upon completion
1/3RD as a down payment.
1/3RD mid-way to completion.
Balance upon completion.
Call to discuss our new monthly payment plan.
Important note: We take great care in preparing instruments for shipment. For extra caution we suggest that you either purchase one of our ATA-approved flight cases or, if you already own one that has been molded to fit a Strat® or Tele®, send us yours. Preparation and shipping costs vary greatly but please call or write if you have any questions. We will work with you to determine the best (and safest) way to ship your guitar
Guitars are typically shipped overnight via FedEx Overnight Priority (both domestic and foreign).
Local delivery or pickup for Los Angeles (or area) residents and visitors.
Parts and accessories orders are custom packed and shipped best way, typically via United States Post Office.
Shipments of items over $500 USD cannot be sent via United States Postal Services.
International Orders :
We welcome international orders. Depending on your country, shipping and insurance methods may vary. Orders may be paid for by PayPal, check (cheque) or bank transfer or credit card in US dollars. For Spirit Series™ guitar orders please email or telephone your order or inquiry directly to Michael (see Contact page).
All orders are insured for their replacement cost when shipped. If you have special or alternate insurance requirements please be sure to let us know the before ship date.
Warrantees and Returns (Parts and Accessories):
Non-custom parts and accessories may be returned if they are in the resalable condition. A 10% restocking fee will apply unless you were mistakenly shipped an incorrect part or accessory by DeTemple Guitars™, in which case you will be fully reimbursed, including shipping costs. Cancellations must be received by us within 30 days of receipt of product.

Each Spirit Series™ guitar also comes with a liberal warranty against defective workmanship or materials for the life of the instrument. Upon notice of any defect, DeTemple Guitars™ will repair or replace, at its option, any defective part or material. Damage incurred by misuse, accidents, normal wear or natural cracking of wood or finishes due to changes in temperature and humidity are not covered under this warranty. Please remember, you are responsible for the cost of shipping, insurance or postage charges of the repaired guitar.
Michael DeTemple's process of building these guitars is extraordinary. From the selection of timbers to the laborious finishing and setup procedures, his instruments require a great deal of time and attention. Each guitar is built specifically and only for you, the client. Therefore, depending upon how far along your order is, cancellations may not always be possible. Order cancellations are only possible if the building process is not too far along, and will incur a $1500.00 cancellation fee, with the remaining balance refundable upon our sale of your position in the schedule. No transfer of ownership position is allowed without the express written consent of DeTemple Guitars™. If you have another party to purchase your spot, we will conduct the transfer of ownership, paperwork and handling of the financial transactions between all parties concerned. The reason for this is the amount of time Michael spends with each individual in consultation to determine the specifications of the guitar and needs of the owner. Due to the nature of Spirit Series™ guitars a transfer of ownership constitutes a duplication of effort, essentially restart of all or most of the process for Michael.
California Sales Tax:
Applicable sales tax will be added to orders placed from or received from within California.
Due to demand, there is currently an approximate 3 year lead time required for all Spirit Series™ (DeTemple '52™, Modern Jazz™, '56™ and P55™) guitar and bass orders. Please discuss scheduling with Michael at the time of your order.
