25/04: Rare One-Off DeTemple ’52 with African Blackwood Fingerboard

Would you be interested in a very custom configured Tele? It has a highly figured Flame maple neck with African Blackwood fingerboard, Featherweight Body and custom routing for the convertible feature of Phoenix pickup or Standard pickup in the neck position.
It is said that “African Blackwood is to Brazilian Rosewood as Brazilian Rosewood is to Indian Rosewood”.
The Phoenix pickup is my take on a Firebird Humbucker made with alnico 2 magnets. The convertible feature allows you to change from the Phoenix neck pickup to our Standard Tele neck pickup in about 15 minutes with no soldering involved. The body is Blonde and the two pickguards are Italian Celluloid for the Phoenix and Black Lacquered Phenolic for the Standard Tele neck pup. The blonde finish could be turned into our Custom mid 50s finish if so desired. This guitar was being made for a very visible and well known artist but the economy has made it impossible for him to finish the project. This guitar will be completed in about 6 months.
