Rare One of a Kind Left Handed DeTemple ’52 (Tele Style) Guitar

Rare One of a Kind Left Handed DeTemple ’52 (Tele Style) Guitar. We made this for Elliot Easton of the Cars. This guitar is the only left handed DeTemple in existence and it is the lightest guitar we have ever built. It weighs just under 6.5 lbs. It has all of our DeTemple Titanium Parts, including Titanium Saddles, Titanium Ferrules, and Titanium Neck Plate. We made this guitar with the upgraded Red Maple Neck and Custom Mid 50’s finish. It also has our Special Open Back Tuners. This guitar is really a special instrument and it is being offered direct from DeTemple Guitars. You can be the owner of the only “Lefty” DeTemple ever made. Please give us a call for more details.

Premier Guitar Magazine (www.premierguitar.com) will be doing a review of one of our DTG Spirit Series '56 guitars this December. Premier guitar's talented writer Adam Hunt has one of our '56 models right now and will be writing the review. He has called me with many questions concerning our Titanium Guitar Parts and accessories. as well as asking me about the methods and processes we use in building our guitars. I know he likes our SweetSpot pickups because he said that he wants to put a set in his personal Fender Strat. Watch for the Review and be sure to visit our website at www.detempleguitars.com

I just received the guitar from our friend and event coordinator Mychelle Volrath. Mychelle took the guitar to Thailand to have the painting done and it turned out fantastic. She actually had two different elephants paint the guitar. I have copied Mychelle's email, below, with the names of the elephants that did the painting and a litlle info about the process they used to get the guitar painted. The elephants were not familiar with painting on a surface like our guitar so it took some practice to get the artwork completed. But completed it is. We will now lock the artwork onto the guitar by shooting clear coats of lacquer over the painting done by the artists. Please read Mychelle's account of the day the guitar was painted.

AEACP
Hello to everyone...I would like to let you all know about a really great project we are doing right now. It will benefit the endangered Asian Elephants. It centers on the work that the Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project (AEACP) is doing. The Asian Elephant Art & Conservation Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to aiding people in need and to saving the diminishing number of Asian elephants left on our planet through its work with domesticated elephants. The AEACP raises funds through the sale of artwork created by elephants in order to generate money and create awareness for the people.
